Miami, FL, Lodge members treated 47 teenage VA volunteers to dinner at the lodge followed by an awards ceremony complete with prizes, which were provided by VA officials. Pictured is VA Patient Relations Assistant Nadine Borrero presenting VA volunteer Catherine Zaw with an award for more than 500 hours of accumulated volunteer work. (Zaw had actually worked 663 hours.)


Thousand Oaks, CA, Lodge donated $600 in cash and $200 in food items to Manna, a local food bank. Pictured with Manna Executive Director Mike Mathews (right) is lodge member Jerry Serota.


Mission Viejo-Saddleback Valley, CA, Lodge donated $1,000 to the family of Kiylani Buchanan, a two- year-old child with diabetes, to help them purchase a diabetic alert dog.


Needles, CA, Lodge members, with the help of members of the Bullhead City, AZ, Lodge and the Kingman, AZ, Lodge, joined with thousands of other volunteers to help renovate the Needles High School building.


Newport Harbor, CA, Lodge held its annual Huck Finn Day Fishing Derby, treated 30 children to a day of fishing, and gave each child a certificate to recognize their recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.


Brooksville, FL, Lodge members, in cooperation with People Helping People (PHP), treated 100 members of the Senior Citizens Club of Hernando County to a spaghetti dinner at the club. In other news, the lodge donated $300 to the Harry-Anna Trust Fund, which supports the two state major projects, the Florida Elks Youth Camp and Florida Elks Children’s Therapy Services, which provides in-home therapy to children with special needs.

Orange, CA, Lodge donated $500 to the local police department to help purchase a police dog and gave $150 to the Orange Senior Center to support its Meals on Wheels Program, which delivers meals to people who cannot leave their homes. Lodge members also raised $315 to send care packages
