State College, PA, Lodge members attended Court of Honor Ceremonies for new Eagle Scouts William Harrison, of Boy Scout Troop No. 83, and Paul Lallement, of Boy Scout Troop No. 380, and gave each of them a certificate and a US flag. For his Eagle Scout Project, Harrison resurfaced a path at the State College Area YMCA and sanded and painted three wooden exercise stations along the path. Lallement, for his Eagle Scout Project, landscaped the courtyard shared by the University Baptist and Brethren Church and the Our Children Center School and planted new hedges, bushes, and grass. Herrin, IL, Lodge held its 12th annual Poker Run fund-raiser and raised more than $24,000 for lodge charities and the state major project, the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corp., which provides medical assistance to children with special needs. More than 600 motorcycle riders participated in the event.
Princeton, IL, Lodge members presented each of three students, Thristan Hicks, Kolton Rewerts, and Melissa Zehr, with a scholarship from the state major project, the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corp. In addition to providing medical assistance to children with special needs, the Illinois Elks Children’s Care Corp. also awards renewable scholarships to students enrolled in physical or occupational therapy degree pro- grams. Bluffton, IN, Lodge donated an $800 ENF Promise Grant to the Wells County Dream Team, which provides sports and artistic activities to children with disabilities.
Brazil, IN, Lodge donated $1,500 to build three new benches near the Forest Park band shell.
Richmond, IN, Lodge donated a $500 ENF Gratitude Grant to Girls Incorpo- rated Wayne County, which works to empower girls to reach their full potential. The lodge also donated $200 to the Elijah “Blackie” Pennington Whitewater Valley Motorcycle Club to support the club’s programs that assist needy children.
Ocean City, MD, Lodge held a 9/11 Service to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11,
2001, and to honor local emergency services personnel. More than 110 people watched as lodge members presented Ocean City Police Depart- ment PFC James Runkles with a plaque recognizing him as their Officer of the Year and presented former Ocean City Fire Department Chief Christopher Larmore with a plaque recognizing Peter Kehne as their Firefighter of the Year.

Greenfield, MA, Lodge members sent more than 3,500 golf balls to US troops serving in Iraq to be used at a driving range in Baghdad.
Minneapolis, MN, Lodge, in coopera- tion with the Brooklyn Park Police Department, held a Kids’ Cooking Class one day a week for six weeks. From 12 to 14 children attended each class and were supervised by adult volunteers, including police officers, as they learned to prepare various foods.
St. Cloud, MN, Lodge members staffed a sweet corn and vegetable stand for more than two months and raised about $2,350 for the lodge Youth Activities Committee.
