we launched our first ever issue of sportEX medicine exactly 10 years ago in July 1999. And what a lot has happened in that time!
At the time I launched the publication, I’d come out of physio training, into a sports science degree and then into medical journalism. When I left my job as a medical journalist to set up sportEX, I was a junior reporter earning £12k a year! To say I knew virtually nothing about publishing would be an understatement. Here we are, 10 years on, not just keeping up but in many ways leading many much bigger publishing businesses through our use of digital technology. Each sportEX issue is now published online in a fully digital interactive form, as well as in paper. These digital issues include a whole range of animations, videos and audio interactions.
But the only reason we are still here and able to reach these new heights, is because you, our subscribers, continue to support and equally importantly, promote us to your colleagues and friends. With our enthusiasm for technology and desire to bring practice to life, It feels to me that sportEX is about to truly come into its own. I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
