EXHIBITION REVIEW
Huge response to Mimaki UJF-3042 desktop UV printer launch
Mimaki’s sole distributor for the UK and Ireland, Hybrid Services Ltd, used the Printwear & Promotion exhibition to show a selection of the latest Mimaki printers, cutters and combined machines, alongside the exclusive launch of the new UJF- 3042 desktop direct-to- product printer. Perfect for producing promotional products, personalised goods, creating designs on consumer electronics items and delivering photo quality output onto myriad uncoated materials, the UJF-3042 employs Mimaki’s cutting edge, cold cure LED UV printing technology. This keeps the running costs low (power consumption is a fraction of alternative UV cure printers) but delivers fast, high quality and durable prints onto practically any product – making it ideal for short run, personalised items; removing setup costs such as screens and allowing a full colour photo quality print to boot. John de la Roche, national sales manager said: “Normally these printers are £80,000 but this is now £23,000 so it brings this technology down to a more home business market.” The Hybrid stand was often swamped with visitors keen to understand the revolutionary approach to product branding that the Mimaki could give them, and a number of orders were confirmed

during the three days of the exhibition. Marketing manager at Hybrid; Duncan Jefferies told us: "Printwear & Promotion was the
ideal opportunity to demonstrate these products from Mimaki. We were delighted – although not
surprised – at the response to the printer, as for the first time, a machine is available to suit the very exacting requirements of this market." Hybrid also took the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of Mimaki’s CJV30 Series solvent printer/cutter – and its many benefits for the sticker and label market – plus its relevance to the apparel producing clients when used in conjunction with any of the many printable garment marking films that could be found at the show. The Mimaki TPC-1000 also drew a crowd – being the first machine to offer dye sublimation printing and cutting in one unit, making it highly valuable for the mug printing, garment marking, mousemat and sportswear markets – to name a few.
