Tauck Premier Events
Robin Tauck
Many tours in the early years of Tauck had only one departure
a year. Some trips to Florida combined Arthur Sr.’s love for
fishing with this travel business! Other events were seminal in
the company’s history: The 1933 World’s Fair in Chicago helped
Tauck survive the Depression; and EXPO ’67 in Montreal
helped to double the size of the business in a single year.
More recently, roses seem to be the theme: Since 2004, Tauck
welcomes in the New Year with hundreds of guests at the famed
Rose Parade in Pasadena. On the East Coast, starting in the
spring of 2005, Tauck has journeyed to bluegrass county for
the famous “Run for the Roses” at The Kentucky Derby. For both
of these events, the red carpet is rolled out and Tauck’s guests
enjoy an exclusive V.I.P. experience.
As this is being published, Tauck is looking forward to
including premier seating at the Passion Play in Oberammergau
The Rose Parade
on three 2010 tours: A Week In… Bavaria, The Dolomites & Venice;
Romantic Germany and Alpine Interlude. This event happens only
once in ten years and is integrated into Tauck’s itineraries.
Tauck realizes that affordable tickets and prime hotel rooms
can be difficult to come by for independent travelers. Because
of long-standing relationships with suppliers, Tauck can often
arrange for the best accommodations and reasonable prices, and
pass them on to their guests. For this reason, Premier Events
will continue to play an important role in Tauck’s future.
