Antarctica is a magical, awe-inspiring, lifetime adventure. Unless
you have traveled there, words cannot describe the experience of
“being” there.
One of the challenges that Tauck faced in creating journeys to
Antarctica in “Tauck Style,” was finding the right vessel. In 1998,
Tauck chose the newly rebuilt ms Clipper Adventurer. With a
special ice-strengthened hull, and state-of-the-art stabilizers for
smooth cruising, it is one of the few ships specifically designed
for voyages to remote polar regions. Scandinavian craftsmen
created an intimate, explorer’s club-like atmosphere that heightens
the spirit of adventure and discovery while providing exceptional
comfort with an attractive nautical
design and plush furnishings. A staff of
guides and lecturers was assembled that
included world-renowned naturalists,
wildlife biologists, polar historians,
ornithologists and geologists.
With a carefully planned itinerary of
coastal cruising and land excursions,
Tauck designed an expedition experience
that would inspire its guests.
