 Animal Fact Sheets and Ancestry pages *CDI users

Individual Animal Search facilities enable a vast quantity of data to be delved into for fact sheets and ancestry pages for both males and females. The ancestry page shows the family tree of every registered animal. Male fact sheets show the genetic evaluation results for each daughter proven, genomic or young bull, while female fact sheets show both the evaluation results, plus individual progeny and lactation results.

 Production and Type Trend Statistics *CDI users

Simple statistics show trends for both the physical production and genetic development of registered animals. These enable breeders to benchmark their own herd and animals against national or regional standards, including the levels required to make the top percentile levels within each breed.

 Family Report *CIS recording Holstein UK members

For those all important cow families, the average daily yield, calving interval, cell count and PLI can be analysed, as well as the number of animals in that family with an inbreeding coeffi cient greater than 6.25%. Each family, grouped by name, can also be broken down to see the individual members.

 Inbreeding Coeffi cients

*CIS recording Holstein UK members

This tool allows another way of looking at inbreeding coeffi cients, for individual animals. It is possible to select a list of animals from the options: all animals, alive animals, milking herd, young stock, served young stock or classifi ed animals and view their inbreeding coeffi cient percentage alongside their eartag, herdbook number, name and date of birth.

 YourHerd

*CIS recorded herds YourHerd is a web based full herd management service that allows links to BCMS and Holstein UK. This cuts out duplication of data between CIS, Holstein UK and BCMS and includes passports, pedigree certifi cations and all animal event details.

 MobileHerd *CIS recorded herds This mobile iphone app offers hands on availability of your data while away from the offi ce, allowing data input as it happens. The app is then synchronised once back in a wifi zone.

 Notifi cation of results *CIS recorded herds

As soon as milk recording, disease testing analysis and PregCheck results go live, a text message and email is sent to notify that the information is available. This enables the records to be acted on within 24 hours of a milk recording.

 Additional Butterfat and Protein Analysis *CIS recorded herds

For CIS customers not requiring full milk recording the cell count only service allows monitoring of any problem cows. This service now includes a Butterfat and Protein analysis at no extra cost.

 Individual Urea Analysis *CIS recorded herds

All milk recorded samples are individually tested and reported for urea levels. This allows farmers and nutritionists to identify if individual cows, or groups of cows, in the same lactation or at the same stage of lactation are using rations to maximum potential.

 Job Board

*Open to members and non- members

An advertising platform for job opportunities, student placements and jobs abroad. This is a free service that works equally well for employers and employees.

 Sales centre

*Holstein UK members and CIS recording herds

This is a great platform to advertise livestock both on the Holstein UK and CIS websites. CIS allows animals to be individually selected on the herd list. There are no fees, commission or levies to pay.

 Type Key Performance Indicators

*Holstein UK members A wide range of reports are available to analyse type trends in the herd through evaluating data over the previous two years and also against national averages. A traffi c light system highlights if the trend is up (green), down (red) or the same (amber).

A breakdown of the herd shows VG heifers, fi rst time Excellent and multiple Excellent numbers over the previous two years. Also, a complete breakdown of linear and composite scores gives an insight in to how breeding decisions are affecting type in the herd.

 Production Key Performance Indicators *CIS recorded herds A snapshot of herd production levels,

highlighting the trends and benchmarking performance against the national CIS database.
