Palace Playland replaces coaster
Palace Playland, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, has retired their old S.D.C. Galaxi roller coaster, which has operated there since 1994, and will be replaced with a new Anaconda model 2.0 from Preston & Barbieri in mid-May. The new coaster, called Sea Viper, is 70 feet tall with a top speed of 42 mph. “In our park our number one limiting factor is space,” explained Palace Playland’s vice president Paul Golder. “What impressed us about the Preston Barbieri coaster was the amount of elements in the relatively small footprint. We have most of the track set up now, and we have already been seeing a lot of positive feedback about the track and layout. The ride is also designed by Andrea Mezzerenghi with P&B, who has an excellent reputation and lengthy career designing coasters.”
etoLeto’s Tyumen waterpark, which was developed with a mind to revamp the area’s image as a tourist centre, will open its doors to the public on May 1 2018. LetoLeto waterpark will span an area of 50,000m2
throughout, as well as over 70 water attractions. Eight of these will be water slides – designed and manufactured by Polin Waterparks – with the total length of all the park’s slides exceeding 1km.
