including the immersive media interactive dark ride – Shanghai Showdown. Shanghai Showdown takes guests on a breakneck

interactive adventure through the streets of 1930s Shanghai, pitting them against legendary gangster Duey Yueshang’s and his ruthless Green Gang, a crew of merciless gangsters who have stolen the mystic Golden Tiger relic. We knew we wanted to design a dark ride that pulled out all the immersive stops to bring this legendary cultural story to life. Weaving tales from this romanticised 1930’s period, so well known in China, required utilising a rich variety of the most impactful storytelling tools and interactive technologies. queue where guests enter the atmospheric interior of the Jade Mantis nightclub, where they meet a colorful cast of underworld characters. Guests are drawn into a story of rival gang factions fighting for an artifact of mystical power, which culminates in an intense car chase/gun battle through the streets of the Shanghai waterfront. Our characters are realised through a variety of media effects, including Musion, Pepper’s Ghost, and integrated projection. The attraction features a motion-based ride vehicle—
styled as a period vehicle—with an onboard shooting and scoring game system that takes guests through a combination of life size physical sets of 1930s Shanghai, epic show-action equipment, SFX, interactive 3D media, and onboard targeting systems. Fire, comprehensive show lighting, onboard audio, and onboard effects, gun reactions, and seat rumblers contribute to the sense of a full-sensory spectacle. story telling that audiences at Hengdian respond to, the exciting physical experiences that today’s guests crave, and the interactive gaming experience that is prized amongst guests and families as they compete for higher and higher scores.
SIMTEC’S NEW INTERACTIVE DARK RIDE Wanda City Movie Park, Harbin

We also took in to account optimal integration of a high-energy seat vibration system from the very beginning,” explains Jannet Schütt, marketing coordinator at Simtec. “The vehicles were designed with the possibility of
system upgrades in mind, for example later installation of leg ticklers would be very simple. We have had a great reaction to this ride, with guests complimenting the simply fun experience that this ride offers.”
