Dark Rides

Ragnfrid’s Saga Vikingaliv, Stockholm

G

uests can now travel back in time to the age of the Vikings in the new attraction in Djurgården, Stockholm: Vikingaliv. The main attraction at

Vikingaliv is a dark ride journey on a Viking ship, where visitors can experience dramatic scenes from the Viking age. In addition to the adventure-based ride, the site is also home to an exhibition, a shop, and a café. Sweden’s royal family officially opened Vikingaliv on the 28th April this year. Vikingaliv is located on 2,000 square meters in

Wassahamnen on Djurgården, between the Vasa Museum and Gröna Lund Amusement Park and is based on historical facts combined with the most recent discoveries of Viking history. The attraction has been produced with the Swedish History Museum who has lent Vikingaliv 30 original objects from their unique Viking age collection. Ragnfrid’s Saga is an 11-minute long ride where

guests are taken through a 10th century journey through different countries and landscapes that makes the life of Vikings feel real. P&P Projects were responsible for the

engineering, production and installation of all show sets, special effects and figures, while ETF provided the trackless multi mover system. P&P Projects worked closely with the well-

known Swedish professor of history Dick Harrison on the story, artistic expression and scenography to ensure historical accuracy throughout the ride.
