Some of these options include the social media element that allows park employees to connect with their guests and change the ride fairly easily according to what they have seen on social media or online platforms. This means that parks can react to their guests’ reactions, in real time. Another important element of an upgrade is the


story telling, older dark rides will benefit from new “We have created these characters, who each have


their own funny character traits,” explains Mark. “What we are trying to do with this complete concept is provide a complete marketing package for our customers. We have created the complete ride and the IP, but we have also created all of the marketing tools to go with it – we have even thought about the merchandise that can be sold in the shop area at the end of the ride.” While this complete package may be a little out of


their comfort zone, Lagotronics Projects have everything they need in house to make this a success. The complete turn key package including the artwork, software engineering and media production has all been produced in house – something that Mark says has been no challenge for the company. “For us, creating all these different elements is actually


something we have done on a regular basis as customised projects for our customers. All we have done now is create one standard package for us to sell. This particular project has not been a challenge for us, obviously it involves a lot of hard work, and we have really thought through all of the little details, but so far it hasn’t given us any problems.” The interactive rotating Farm Fair ride will definitely be an interesting one once it is finished, and Mark teases that he would not be surprised if we were to see Farm Fair appear at a larger park, as well as smaller venues. Creating their own IP isn’t the only first for Lagotronics


Projects this year, as they have also recently completed their first US project. The Ghost Hunt dark ride at Lake Compounce has just received the Lagotronics Projects treatment with a complete upgrade – the first in the US to use their interactive system. “We have determined that a lot of people in the


world have an interactive dark ride that is not functioning right anymore or is having to have a lot of maintenance work done on it. With an upgrade with our system we can upgrade all of the technology so that it works like a dream again! We can also provide a lot more options for the particular customer since our system has a lot of options to play with.”

Lake Compounce will we be seeing more of Lagotronics Projects in the US? “We are always interested in working in the US,”


explains Mark. “We have been working worldwide for many years now, but the US somehow just didn’t happen for us. However since we have partnered with Ride Entertainment the US market has grown for us, they are putting a lot of time and effort into introducing our company and our projects and I think it is a great cooperation.” Since the launch of the GameChanger last year it has been all hands on deck at Lagotronics Projects. With several dark ride upgrades, new interactive 3D dark rides and the introduction of their very own IP you would not be wrong in thinking they currently have enough on their plate. “There are a lot of projects we are working on and we are very busy right now – but unfortunately I cannot tell you about them! However, most of the opening dates for these projects are early next year, so make sure you keep an eye out!”
