T
he international theme park group Plopsa have announced that they will open a 5,000 square meter indoor area in its German-based Holiday Park in 2018.
It is the biggest investment in the amusement park since 2010. Currently, Plopsa benefits from five theme parks and a
water park in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. It is also making its first steps in Poland with the construction of Holiday Park Kownaty underway. Since the acquisition of Holiday Park in 2010, the Plopsa Group has invested more than 50 million euros in to the German amusement park.
The addition of this new indoor area, named Holiday
Indoors and set to open next summer, will see another €7.5 million invested in to the german park. The new area will be home to seven attractions and a
theater and is part of of the plan to make Holiday Park an all-weather destination. CEO of the Plopsa Group Steve Van Den Kerkhof is particularly excited about the new project. “The concept of an indoor theme park in Germany is unique, the indoor attractions will compliment the existing outdoor attractions, making Holiday Park an destination no matter
what the weather, and increasing the capacity of the park.” So far the only details released about the new indoor
area is that it will include a family carriageway, an interactive flying carousel, an authentic turnpit, large slides, a ball pit, climbing tree and a playground. A theatre with a capacity of 500 people, two food outlets and a new shop will complete the area. The Plopsa group have also revealed that after the successful installation of the new indoor area there are plans to build a water park adjacent to the main park.
