The first triple-launch coaster to hit the Nordic countries, Hype is the fastest, highest and definitely the coolest ride Särkänniemi has on offer

Särkänniemi Amusement Park. Located in Tampere, Finland, Särkänniemi is home to over 30 different rides as well as a fairytale farm, planetarium, aquarium and the Näsinneula observation tower. Hype is the latest addition to the park, and is part of a

new strategy to make Särkänniemi become a destination for thrill rides. Mikka Seppälä, Särkänniemi’s CEO explains: “In 2015 we devised a new strategy to guide us through the next ten years here at Särkänniemi. A tantalising slow roll places riders upside down approximately 50 meters in the air – a record for the Nordic region. After executing the roll, guests enter a face-

first vertical drop, ending in a twisting loop where riders experience exciting G-force. Finally, riders are dropped towards ground level where the train once more shoots through the station until the magnetic technology brings the ride to a smooth stop in the station. Hype is definitely one of the most thrilling compact coasters around, something that was imperative for park CEO, Mikka Seppälä, as
