COVER STORY: SPORTRADAR

PLAYRADAR: AN ADJACENT CATEGORY AT THE INTERSECTION OF SPORTS AND CASINO Sports betting and casino gaming have long been treated as separate audiences. Sportradar’s Playradar brand challenges that assumption by creating what it calls a new category of sports casino entertainment. Rather than simply expanding into online casino games, Playradar leans into Sportradar’s extensive sports data heritage from historical to live data, combining it with casino game mechanics to create immersive experiences between watching sport, betting and gaming.

By designing games that appeal to both sports bettors and casino players, Playradar helps operators serve both audiences without losing them to a different platform, strengthening acquisition and retention at once.

PREDICTION MARKETS: ANOTHER ORGANIC, ADJACENT EXTENSION FOR SPORTRADAR Prediction markets have rapidly emerged as a growing category in the U.S., opening new avenues for fan engagement and new commercial opportunities for Sportradar and its clients. Through Sportradar Prediction Services, Sportradar struck official agreements with two of the largest prediction market players, Kalshi and Polymarket as the official data and odds provider for some of the top leagues in the world. In addition, Kalshi and Polymarket leverage other solutions including Sportradar’s marketing services, fan engagement tools, and integrity services.

INTEGRITY SERVICES: A 25- YEAR COMMITMENT TO FAIR PLAY

While prediction markets is emerging

and serves as a strong adjacency for Sportradar, its role in protecting sport has been long established as a leader in its space. Since 2009, starting with UEFA as an early client, Sportradar has used its betting data and technology to help keep competition clean and fair for participants, fans, and bettors alike.

The company built its own proprietary bet-monitoring solution to detect suspicious activity, and its ongoing investment in AI since 2017 has evolved that system into the Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI), fully integrated in 2023 and modeled against all available data.

That system’s credibility has been externally validated. A 2017 Betmonitalert report, commissioned by the European Union, described UFDS as “one of the most sophisticated, if not the best, indirect monitoring system” available, while recommending it be

strengthened by the inclusion of betting data, a recommendation Sportradar acted on by integrating its MTS data. The system holds ISO 9001 certification, a globally recognized quality management standard, and undergoes one internal and one external ISO audit annually.

Sportradar’s Integrity Exchange extends this monitoring further, incorporating account-level betting information from an extended network of bookmakers through a rapid reporting system that lets operators flag unusual behavior for investigation.

Sportradar now monitors roughly one million sports matches annually. Since inception, the company has detected and reported more than 12,000 suspicious matches across 16 sports, work that has contributed to 1,064

individuals or teams being found guilty in sports disciplinary proceedings, and 80 individuals convicted in criminal

proceedings. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has cited evidence from UFDS AI in support of its rulings, further

affirming the system’s value and credibility.

Sportradar also brings this integrity mission to prevention and education, and through AI, the company has extended its protective role to athlete welfare monitoring social media directed at athletes and federations.

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS, ONE CONSTANT Twenty-five years after its founding, Sportradar continues to set the pace for innovation across sports, media, and betting. Through sustained investment in technology, strategic partnerships, and next-generation products, the company remains a trusted partner to its clients and stays ahead of the rapidly evolving expectations of sports fans and bettors worldwide.
