MACAU BUSINESS Emperor Entertainment revenue drops 39 per cent on satellite casino exit E

mperor Entertainment Hotel Limited, the Hong Kong-listed owner of the Grand Emperor Hotel in Macau, reported total revenue of HK512.2million(US65.3 million) for the year ended 31 March 2026, down 39 per cent from HK837million(US106.8 million) a year earlier.

The decline followed the company’s exit from its satellite casino business, ending a service agreement with SJM Resorts, S.A. that had run since 2010. Despite the revenue fall, its net loss narrowed 90 per cent to HK24.8million(US3.2 million), from HK248.1million(US31.6 million) the previous year. Emperor Entertainment announced the results in Hong Kong on 30 June 2026.

The company and SJM mutually terminated their service agreement with effect from 31 October 2025.

From that date, the gaming area inside Grand Emperor Hotel, formerly operated as Casino Emperor Palace, ceased operations and stopped generating revenue. Gaming-related revenue fell to HK179.4million(US22.9 million), from HK505.6million(US64.5 million) a year earlier, reflecting only seven months of operation before termination. The figure comprised service income from the mass market hall and the slot machine hall. The narrower net loss was also helped by a sharp reduction in the fair value loss on investment properties, which fell to HK106.2million(US13.5 million) from HK371.7million(US47.4 million), together with a HK96.8million(US12.3 million) gain on the disposal of property, plant and equipment.
