Hacienda destruye más de 1,600 equipos ilegales de juegos de azar
El Ministerio de Hacienda de Republica Dominicana ha informado que se han destruido más de mil equipos que operaban de manera ilegal en establecimientos ubicados en el Gran Santo Domingo y otras demarcaciones del país. Entre los que además de máquinas de juego se encontraban computadoras, impresoras, televisores, etc. Los equipos fueron confiscados por inspectores de la Dirección de Casinos y Juegos de Azar en operativos realizados en tiendas comestibles, llamados colmados en RRDD, bancas de lotería y bancas deportivas, durante los meses enero y febrero de 2020. Durante la actividad, el director de Casinos y Juegos de Azar, Omar
Fernández, informó que una vez concluya el proceso de desguace, la institución programará la entrega, en calidad de donación, de los equipos que estén en óptimas condiciones a entidades educativas, religiosas y de carácter social, como parte del Programa Social de Apoyo a Organizaciones Sin Fines de Lucro, tal como lo dice la ley.

Treasury destroys more illegal gambling equipment
The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Finance has reported that gaming equipment exceeding 1,600 machines operating illegally in establishments located in Gran Santo Domingo and other provinces in the country have been destroyed, including also computers, printers, televisions, etc. The equipment was confiscated by inspectors from
DR’s Casinos and Gaming Directorate, in operations that raided food stores, lottery vendors and sports betting houses, during the months January and February 2020.
During the said activity, the director of Casinos and Gaming, Omar Fernández, was quoted as saying that that once the scrapping process of illegal equipment is completed, the institution will schedule the delivery of non-gaming equipment, such as computers and TVs found in optimal conditions, as donations to educational and religious entities and social services.
