SBC SUMMIT INTERVIEW

GIO: How important are shows like this in, in bringing that attention? How do they bring attention to this market? SM: Events like SBC are very, very, valuable because, they bring all sides of the industry in the same conversation. Regulators, payment providers, associations, suppliers, operators, investors.

For Africa especially, that is important because many of the challenges, cannot be solved, by one part of the industry alone. So we need all these people in one place. I also think having a dedicated African discussion, at, big international events, changes the conversation.

Instead of talking about Africa from a distance, you have people who are actually operating and regulating, within these markets, sharing their

experience directly. The fact that, SBC, Summit, 2026 has dedicated a African, session and an African gaming forum covering markets including Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, shows how much more central Africa has become part of the global industry, conversation.

GIO: What does the next year hold for SoftConstruct, especially in Africa? SM: For SoftConstruct, the next year is really about moving from market entry to deeper market presence. We will spend a significant time, building, our foundation with Africa in Africa, understanding individual markets, developing regulatory relationships and establishing local operations, and most importantly, listening to what our partners actually need.

The next phase is about, converting the foundation, into, sustainable growth. We want to strengthen our presence in key markets such as South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria, while continuing to evaluate our opportunities across the continent. But our strategy isn’t simply to enter as many countries as possible.

We want to build long-term partnerships, provide technology and products that are adapted to local markets and be physically closer to our partners.

For me personally, one of the priorities for our Africa hub is making sure there is a much stronger connection between what our partner needs, on the ground and what our global teams deliver.

I think, 2027 will be the year when people see SoftConstruct becoming much more locally embedded in Africa not simply operating in African markets, but building with them.
