Women mean business
Two female franchisees highlight their experiences and why a franchise was the best business decision they made

hy franchising and why with Tezlom? I had worked in the performing arts sector for
two decades – latterly as CEO of a national music development charity. I was considering a new role, to build something for my family. My daughter Rebekah, worked for the prison service and was ready for a challenge. Significant life changes and then the pandemic gave us the idea to do something together. It made complete sense use a tried-and-tested model through franchising. I had been researching different sectors since 2018 but kept returning to healthcare recruitment. I first met Ryan Armitage (Tezlom’s director) in 2018 but personal circumstances prevented me

from moving forward. When Rebekah and I started looking in summer 2021, I remembered meeting with Ryan, looked up the company and gave him a call. The rest is history!
How long did it take to get up and running? Rebekah and I visited Southport for a discovery day to find out: was Tezlom right for us and would we be a good fit? By the time we left, we'd decided almost certainly it was the right franchise for us. Over the next few weeks we produced a business plan, the finance, completed the legalities and did our three-day official onboarding in November 2021.
Describe the initial training and support and ongoing resources Support from day one has been amazing. The first weeks and
months were a steep learning curve but we always knew help was available. Members of Tezlom’s head office visited, providing operational support and training, and even outside of those visits, help is only ever a phone call away. We’ve had additional training visits in specific areas as the business has grown and evolved. And when we have a question or need advice, we just pick up the phone. Practical help is also provided – particularly useful for business development. When our office flooded and made us administratively homeless for six weeks, Tezlom provided solutions and practical help to ensure minimum disruption.
How is business today? We filled our first booking within six weeks. Growth in the first
