A DAY IN THE LI F E Action Day!

Jenni Morgan of ActionCOACH on daily life running her business

The owner of ActionCOACH Wakefield since October 2018, Jenni tells Business Fra nchise about her typical day and how her work-life balance has changed for the better since her days spent as a consultant working in London.

hats or tical rotine fi rst thing I’m an early riser. I get up at 6.30am, have my toast and then I take our little Labradoodle for a walk. I’m just a mile and a half down the road from my work so I get in about 7.45am and spend 15 minutes reviewing the plan for the day. I’d say my mornings are now very stress free. Choosing an offi ce close to me has helped – I was getting tired of the stressful drive to work every day. Now I feel like my early rise and calming routine isn’t wasted.

hat does a s da look like or o From 8am-9am I’ll prep for client coaching or I’ll coach one of my team. Then in the space between 9am-12.30pm I’ll do three coaching sessions. I love coaching because it gives me a sense of fulfi lment by helping my clients and their businesses succeed and grow. I’ve always been good at problem solving and working things out with people, so when our work pays off and I see their progression, it’s a fantastic feeling. Each Wednesday I give myself a longer lunch. I take the dog on a nice walk and

really savour the fresh air. After lunch I’ll do some more coaching and then wrap up with what actions I have from the day and do some planning for the next day. I’ll leave the offi ce by about 6pm.

o o get an ree tie in the week Often the activities and tasks reserved for Monday and Friday can be completed in just half a day. Those days can be a lot more informal. We have time for a ‘WIFLE’ which stands for ‘what I feel like expressing’, allowing my team members the chance to share anything from important news to a funny anecdote from the weekend. This means I have the fl exibility to not work Monday mornings or Friday afternoons which simply couldn’t have happened in my old job.
