Warrens Bakery E
stablished in 1860, Cornwall-based Warrens Bakery puts a fi rm focus on provenance, with generations of
bakers having passed down craft bakery techniques and traditions. Best known as the world’s-oldest Cornish pasty maker, the company, now over 70-stores strong nationally, is growing rapidly and continues to prove its credentials as a craft bakery. It was crowned winner of the esteemed National Craft Bakery Business award at the Baking Industry Awards 2018. Brand awareness has been growing
rapidly for Warrens Bakery, with many new franchise stores across the UK, hundreds of new bakeries planned to open within the next fi ve years, and appearances on national media, including a feature on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. With a rich heritage and an array of
award-winning sweet and savoury bakes, Warrens Bakery aims to be the leading ethical retail bakery in franchising. It has recognised a lack of choice in the UK for consumers and franchisees, with a gap for a national premium bakery. With its unique heritage, Warrens Bakery addresses this. Its model provides franchisees with a national

supply, economies of scale and operational staff training. The brand offers a versatile opportunity, product development, point- of-sale merchandising, and in-house marketing support. This summer saw the launch of Warrens
Bakery’s campaign to fi nd the fi rst Young Budding Baker of the Year to help support the next generation of bakers. Head baker Jason Jobling, who has been with the team for an incredible 26 years, led the search with the help of baking star Martha Collison to recruit young bakers. The winner, Florrie Smith, received a behind-the-scenes tour at Warrens Bakery in Cornwall, a masterclass with Jason and the opportunity to develop a new bake to be sold across their stores. Throughout 2018 there have been a
number of new ranges launched alongside the opening of new stores, including an expanding hot savouries range, pasties and hand-made sandwiches with fl avours from around the world, and a nostalgic summer range bursting with classic British cakes. To support its seasonal offering, Warrens Bakery runs an extensive new product development programme and plays a leading role within its industry associations.
