are rewarded for their hard work and commitment to changing the face of ageing. The initial investment is between £90,000 and £110,000, which covers the franchise fee, setup costs, employee recruitment and the working capital to get the business to break-even point. There is also an ongoing royalty fee of 6.5 per cent of monthly turnover, excluding vat. By year three to fi ve, it is typical for a Home Instead franchise business to have a £1million annual turnover and operating profi ts of 15 to 20 per cent (average for the network is 17.5 per cent). Home Instead’s training is designed to
help franchisees be successful, through a bespoke 180-day training and development programme. There is a 55-strong team at the national offi ce, which gives it a 4:1 ratio of sector-leading experts to Home Instead franchisees – one of the best in franchising.
