rench kitchen manufacturer Mobalpa began in the French Alps in 1907 and now reaches more than one million


customers internationally. Operating through a franchise network in the UK, the brand emphasises well-crafted, bespoke kitchen furniture working with customers to ‘design their lifestyle’.


The Mobalpa UK team works in partnership with its franchisees creating a network of support. Before investing, prospective franchisees undertake a full testing process that all Mobalpa directors, designers and managers have completed. Training days take place at the concept showroom in the UK and France over 10 weeks, where prospects are briefed on running a showroom, along with product, sales and management training. The UK team then continues to support all franchisees with business and retail skills utilising their combined retail experience in the country. With plans to expand the franchise


network across the UK, the business is seeking those with the ability to multitask, to be forward facing in a customer environment, and who are motivated to succeed, to join this network. Kyle Whittle, country manager of Mobalpa

training provided by Mobalpa, we do not consider it necessary for franchisees to have specifi c kitchen industry experience; instead we place greater emphasis on their wider business experience, personality and key management skills.” Mo Yaqub, owner of Mobalpa Pinner, which launched in 2015, says: “Working with Mobalpa means I have access and support from people who really are experts in this industry, along with support in the development of my store and, of course, quality products. I know quality products when I see them, and what makes a good showroom a great one! Mobalpa is a well-renowned and established company in the industry, so joining their franchise family just made sense.” It usually takes six to nine months from


fi rst contact to opening. To be successful, you need to be able to sell and have strong interpersonal and management skills.
