Radfield Home Care adds two new franchises to network as it launches discovery days
n Radfield Home Care has added two new franchises to its growing network of homecare business owners. Father-and-son team Jonathan and Matthew Nutting will operate a new franchise in Harrogate, while Shamsah Lalji will be operating in London’s Kingston and Richmond territories.
Shamsah, Jonathan and Matthew all completed their first week of franchise training together at Radfield Home Care’s national office, focusing on marketing, business ownership and the homecare industry. They will now look to complete their second week of training, which focuses on operations, software and compliance, and launch their new branches shortly after.
Shamsah, who worked in the
pharmaceutical industry for over a decade, wanted to manage her own business so that she could give back to the community in a meaningful way. She says: “I grew up in a household living with my grandmother and an aunt who has certain physical disabilities. I witnessed the importance of carers first hand and the impact they had on my entire family’s quality of life and peace of mind.
“I knew that I wanted to launch a homecare business and provide high- quality care to those in need, helping them to live safer, happier and more fulfilling lives in their own home.”
With a career as an occupational therapist within the NHS, Matthew was well aware of the benefits a homecare service could bring to his community’s local residents. He says: “Both my wife and I have always worked within healthcare, so we have a lot of knowledge of the homecare sector. In addition, my father, Jonathan, has worked in various large organisations in a range of senior finance roles, so our combined skills will help us grow a sustainable business while keeping our clients at the centre of what we do.” These new additions come as Radfield Home Care prepares to launch its discovery day programme to help budding entrepreneurs learn more about its franchise opportunity.
With the first event on 10 July in London, the discovery days have been developed to make it easier for potential franchisees to learn more about entering the community- based homecare industry with a franchise. With interest in the Radfield Home Care franchise opportunity growing, the team will organise further events throughout the country, focusing on financial projections, hot territories within each region and giving attendees a first-hand insight into the daily life of a Radfield Home Care franchisee. Franchisor and qualified GP Dr Hannah MacKechnie explains: “The Radfield Home Care model was developed for over eight years before we launched the franchise opportunity in 2016 and, because of this high level of experience, we have grown to 10 branches in a little over 18 months. Now, to help support the high number of enquiries we are attracting, we have introduced the discovery days to bring the Radfield opportunity to them and allow them to get a real insight into the financial and moral rewards possible in the sector. “We wanted to make sure the discovery days were of great value to our attendees, so I have been working with the franchise recruitment and support teams to ensure the content on the day is extremely insightful and provides more information than what they may already know about Radfield. Each event has a capacity of 10 prospects, meaning each attendee will have plenty of one-to-one time and will go away with a bespoke action plan.”
