Warrens Bakery is on the rise in the world of franchising
INVESTMENT LEVEL: FROM £16,500
year on since Warrens Bakery launched its very fi rst franchise store outside of the South West, the team are delighted to have recently
opened their 13th new site, with 50 to 60 stores due to open in 2018. As the trend for craft baking continues
to grow, the nation’s appetite for a taste of traditional, handcrafted sweet and savoury baked goods shows no sign of slowing. Tipped as one of the UK’s leading craft bakeries, the team at Warrens Bakery have had a busy 12 months. This year has also seen a number of new ranges launched alongside the opening of new stores, as the brand continues to innovate and update award-winning ranges. Expanding into new regions by working in partnership with established local franchisees has proven to be a winning formula for the world’s oldest pasty maker; it now has three sites across Somerset,
four in Hampshire, two in Greater London, as well as outlets in Altrincham, Birmingham and Southend, plus the fi rst store in Central London, which opened just before Christmas. Named as the current fastest-growing food franchise business, Warrens Bakery is part of the traditional British baking renaissance – a boom evidenced by the millions of viewers who tuned into the return of the Great British Bake Off last year. The iconic pasty has even been tipped by leading food magazine Olive as one to watch this year in its offi cial 2018 Food & Drink Trend report. Cited within the report, Warrens Bakery’s signature pasties have proven a hit with new customers and they continue to be one of the most popular items in each franchise store. It is certainly an exciting time of development in Warrens Bakery’s 150-year history and Simon Vardy, managing director at Sim Trava Holdings, has been delighted
with the success seen since the opening of his fi rst store in Altrincham last year. He says: “We opened our fi rst Warrens Bakery store in Altrincham in late 2017 and I have been so impressed by the customer feedback on the product quality and, most importantly, the taste of everything we sell. The brand story and image is a very strong marketing tool. We can’t wait to open up in more locations around Manchester and know this brand is set to become a national brand this year.”
