Mark your crown block at the centre, front and back, with a pencil line and cover it with cling film.

Measure the outer edges of the crown block. Blocks are never symmetrical, so measure the right and the left side separately,

starting at (a), over (b) and finishing at (c). Mine is 43 cm on the right and 42 cm on the left side.

I like to add a second bar to the crown, so that it rests better on the head. For this bar, measure the inside of the block from tip to tip.

Finally, measure the depth and height at the centre line of the block.

Cut two wires: one length at 42 + 43 cm + 7 cm overlap = 92 cm, and one piece with the same length as the second bar (see: 04).

Close the wire with a 7 cm overlap with Sellotape, and mark the centre front in the middle of the overlap. Colour the wire with a watercolour pencil.

On the block, measure the length from (b) to (c) and bend the wire on both sides accordingly.
