TRANOï Femme

PARIS | Spring/Summer 2018

29 September - 2 October 2017 Palais de la Bourse, Paris, France www.tranoi.com

Federica Moretti

Four times a year, enthusiasts flock to the TRANOÏ fashion trade show during the Paris Fashion Week. This takes place in prestigious venues such as the Palais de la Bourse. TRANOÏ attracts the Japanese high-end buyers and the event is promoted as an artistic platform that selects and curates avant-garde and emerging designers as well as contemporary and leading brands.

Diverse mix CA4LA Reinhard Plank

MDWS.RU is a Russian collective of two milliners who presented this year for the first time at Tranoï. They started out over two years ago and decided now was the time to sell their hats on the European market. In their collection, they showed classic models made from felt and decorated with hand embroidery or positive vibe words, as well as patent leather rain caps. Federica Moretti’s collection was all about fun and she displayed her hats with large fringes at the brims; she also presented soft hats stitched from wide-fringed braid. The hats from the Japanese brand CA4LA are all one size and are adjustable on the inside to fit the right head size. As most are made from fine raffia or a mix of linen and polyester, many of them are foldable and some are even washable. For his hats, Reinhard Plank uses new materials which he first distresses to convert them into something new. With his transforming designs he brings the concept of fraying and folding to a whole new level.
