PURE | UK TRADE SHOWS
This season five headwear companies presented collections.
Max & Ellie showed their colourful collection of mainly dressy/occasionwear. Their brand is young, wide in the colour ranges they offer, and efficiently managed. Hats are designed in-house but produced in the Far East; therefore the price points are affordable for the younger market.

Seeberger are now a regular exhibitor at Pure. We spoke with Jacki Hague, their UK agent, as the collection at Pure never looks the same as the other Seeberger collections. She told us: “I select the UK range each season from the large German collection, taking styles I feel are more relevant to the UK market. And yes it does look different, maybe slightly more classic, taking more the quality items, and the colour palette I feel suits the UK market. Pure has been good this season.”

Kopka offers a classic range of basic products in high quality fabrics to large stores and small boutiques. Summer is not their most productive season, but showing in July gives them the opportunity to take orders for the forthcoming autumn/winter season. Their stand is clean, uncluttered, even minimal in its design, and presents new colours and products in an easy and straightforward way to buyers. This was their seventh show at Pure.
Bronté/ID Hats returned to the show after a three-year absence from Pure. Their collection serves the young and mainstream market with classic and directional design. Having a retail store in London, in nearby Earl’s Court, gives Marly Verhoeven Vroemen a far better grasp of the market here in the UK. Her return to Pure, she said, was pretty slow this season; she had seen many of her existing customers but few new buyers.
Seeberger showed a small collection of South American-inspired hats and visors
Alex Cappelli were showing here for the fourth season. Their small family company, based in Florence, produce quite distinctive headwear, this season extending their printed parasisal and painted surfaces. Their price point at this show is quite high, and it may be that their appearance in Paris at Première Classe may end up being a better option for them.

As we were leaving the show we spotted, in amongst the menswear clothing on the ground floor, the hat brand MJM Hats, a company from Denmark with sales representative Mr Finn Bursche. They had shown at Pure once before and had on offer a huge range across straws, felts and soft caps.
