Artists’ collective TOHU-BOHU and Luca della Lama both draw their inspiration from nature for their Summer 2018 collection. The ‘Dear Nature...’ collection by TOHU-BOHU contained white rice-straw hats decorated with various materials such as paper, fabric, straw and paint. Luca Della Lama’s collection ‘Inside a greenhouse’ showed big embroidered or painted eyes, mouths and butterflies.


Braided hats came in many sizes and materials. The smallest braids were found in Nicki Marquardt’s collection. She makes fine straw foldable hats as well as headpieces from crin which are so small that they have to be specially made for her. Jacques le Corre had caps made from fine leather strips and Jennifer Ouellette showed a beautiful colour effect that was created by stitching three different colours of thread next to each other.

The beret is Laulhère’s specialty. A wide variety of decorated designs were presented alongside their standard beret models. Bernstock’s caps are all about colour and optimism, as we can see with their bow-cap. A new product in their line is the name-drop, a personalised cap that’s sold online only.
