MYRIAD OPTIONS FOR RADIO Broadcast Radio BY KEVIN EMMOTT

Myriad Cloud is a fully cloud- hosted radio playout platform built on Microsoft Azure. It delivers the full feature set of Broadcast Radio’s on-prem Myriad platform in a secure, scalable cloud environment.

The system enables remote hosting of live shows with real-time audio contributions from multiple presenters, and boasts an

all-inclusive ecosystem including scheduling, user management, database management and live presenting.

The company is also showcasing Myriad Anywhere, a web-based interface that gives presenters, producers and engineers complete access to their Myriad system from any modern browser. It offers features such as managing playlists, voice tracking, or running live shows, securely and seamlessly over the web. 8.B77h

ROBOTIC JIB GETS ITS GLIDE ON Telemetrics BY DAVID FOX

TeleScope is a robotic jib built on Telemetrics’ OmniGlide Robotic Roving Pedestal that is claimed to capture shots that would be diffi cult or impossible to get with other equipment, such as high overhead shots, long sweeping moves, or shots low to the ground. It has more than 20 time-

of-fl ight safety sensors covering the extension arm and OmniGlide base to avoid unwanted collisions. Michael Cuomo, Vice President

of Telemetrics, said: “When designing the TeleScope, safety had a big factor in the design. Smooth and quiet robotics were

part of the initial development, but the product wasn’t complete until it could be safely operated remotely.”

It comes in three sizes and can carry a payload of camera, lens and a small teleprompter. It extends over 1.2m in its standard confi guration and can operate at a linear speed of 28cm per second. The TeleScope offers virtually

unrestricted movement, with a vertical range from 30cm to over 2.3m (standard confi guration). Compatible with the RCCP-2A STS system, the operator has full control and a virtualised view of the robotic jib in Studio View. TeleScope can also be retrofi tted onto any existing OmniGlide. 12.G42

CINE ZOOMS DELIVER ARTFUL AUTOFOCUS

Sigma BY DAVID FOX

The upcoming AF Cine Line from Sigma builds on the optical system of its Art series still lenses. The company claims they will offer “exceptional rendering performance, along with high-precision autofocus with excellent tracking capability, combined with the ergonomics required for professional cinema production”.

The Sigma 28-45mm T2 FF should be available in

November, and the Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF is due in Spring 2026. They will be

available in L-mount and Sony E-mount models and are Sigma’s fi rst AF Cine Line lenses. Optimised for professional cinema production, the lenses feature a limited-rotation focus ring, industry-standard 0.8M pitch gears and a clickless aperture ring. For autofocus, they use a linear motor high- response linear actuator that supports rapid focus shifts in gimbal or handheld shooting. 12.F55

MIC TRIO MAKES SOUND SENSE

Microtech Gefell

The MKM 403 features three independent

Generation 4 M 40 microphone capsules in a single compact microphone housing. Each offers an MV 400 X mic preamp that is optimised for both front and side pickup. In contrast to the eight-mic capsule KEM 975, also on show, the MKM 403 operates only one microphone

at a time and has two more serving as a reserve.

In addition,

Going for gold: The MKM 403 microphone

Microtech Gefell has integrated a miniature loudspeaker which plays a test tone that is imperceptible to the human ear, and which all three built-in mics pick up and transmit to the audio system. If one microphone path is disturbed, the

system switches to the next. Each MKM 403 is gold-plated on the outside. 8.D47
