Sponsored Brand USA NEW YORK LAS VEGAS

The Las Vegas sports and wellbeing offering is skyrocketing and the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority will be showcasing this during WTM London. The “Entertainment Capital of the World” provides the perfect escape for relaxation and rejuvenation with luxurious spas and wellbeing experiences – both public retreats and those exclusively for hotel guests – located both on and off the Strip. Las Vegas’ sports offering

is also heating up with the destination hosting a vast variety of professional, collegiate and amateur sporting events each year. The Oakland Raiders relocate to Las Vegas in 2020, plus the new hockey team Vegas Golden Knights, WNBA Las Vegas Aces and the new downtown soccer team Las Vegas Lights, are all putting Las Vegas firmly on the sporting map. ■ Stand: NA150

Next year promises to be an exciting one for the Empire State. The world-famous Woodstock festival attracted an audience of more than 400,000 to Bethel, a town in the Catskills, New York State, back in 1969, and August 2019 will mark its 50th anniversary. This isn’t the only event celebrating 50 years in 2019 – in May and June World Pride will be coming to New York City (and the US) for the first time, with many events branching out into the wider state of New York.

Of course, this is to mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in the Greenwich Village neighbourhood of Manhattan. As well as these exciting anniversaries, the destination plans to build 350 miles of trail to create the largest state multi-use trail network in the whole nation, connecting Lake Erie to the Capital Region and the New York Harbour to Canada. The launch is projected for 2020. ■ Stand: NA300

PITTSBURGH

From April 2, 2019, British Airways will launch a year-round, non-stop flight from London to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with special fares starting from £600 return in World Traveller and £1,068 in World Traveller Plus. The new flight will operate four times a week, departing from Heathrow on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday onboard the airline’s newest aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The plane will feature 214 seats in a three-class configuration. ■ Stand: NA370

SAN DIEGO

2019 marks the 250th anniversary of San Diego’s founding. In 1769 the first European settlement on the Californian coast was established at the Presidio – the current location of Old Town San Diego – which is considered the birthplace of California and is the site of the first permanent Spanish settlement in the state. ■ Stand: NA440
