NEW BRAND FOR AZERBAIJAN


Azerbaijan has launched a new brand campaign as part of a strategy to double inbound tourism arrivals by 2023. Last year, the destination welcomed a record number of arrivals, spending more than $1.3 billion, and it has made recent investments in tourism including a simplified electronic visa procedure. The new campaign, “Take another look”, focuses on Azerbaijan’s stories and secrets – immersing visitors in “genuine cultural experiences”. (EU1280)

ADRIATIC CRUISES RISE Balkan Holidays is celebrating an increase in demand for Adriatic cruises in summer 2019, thanks to the launch of its new brochure. The Discovery programme contains specialist holidays offered by the operator, including golf breaks, walking holidays, coach tours and a selection of cruising itineraries sailing from Dubrovnik and Split. Bulgaria, Slovenia and Macedonia are also featured destinations. (EU1320)

Imperial Grecotel Exclusive Resort, Daphnila Bay Dassia Grecotel Lux Me Resort, Casa Marron Grecotel All-In Resort, Pella Beach Grecotel Family Resort and Rhodos Royal Grecotel All-In Resort are taking on renovations of 780 rooms and 40 restaurants serving dishes from award-winning chefs. Grecotel is expecting the overhauls to increase overnight stays by 7%. (EU1000)


CROATIA INTEREST KICKS OFF The Croatian National Tourist Board is capitalising on World Cup success this year, hoping that its runner-up finish will help international arrivals surpass 18.5 million, the 2017 total. New flight connections are also expected to help boost arrivals, while the island of Vis has already seen a spike in popularity during 2018 thanks to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which was filmed there. The first eight months of 2018 saw 14 million arrivals to Croatia, which is a 5% year-on-year increase. (EU1450)

Cleopatra Hotels and Resorts has announced the launch of three new hotels in Egypt next year.
