Spice Island Beach Resort GRAND ANSE BEACH, GRENADA
The family-owned Spice Island Beach Resort was founded by Grenadian hotelier Sir Royston Hopkin KCMG, who set about crafting the ultimate luxury resort nestled against a backdrop of lush green hills, swaying palms and the deep blue Caribbean Sea. Seventeen of the resort’s 64 luxurious suites have
private pools, making them ideal for couples or solo travellers, while a further 34 suites open directly onto the golden sands of the two-mile-long Grand Anse Beach — so they’re perfect for families. The complimentary Nutmeg Pod activity
centre is open daily with a full-day activity programme for children between the ages of three and 12. Each child receives their own goodie box on check-in, which includes branded gifts from the resort and local snacks. Janissa’s Spa offers rejuvenation for body
and soul by harnessing the restorative power of Grenada’s native spices, seaweed and citrus zest to revive and revitalise mind and body. Guests can continue to soothe their soul at the beachfront yoga pavilion, as well as taking some
meditative moments in the hotel’s secret herb and spice garden. Grenada makes up part of the West Indies, a
jewel at the southeastern tip of the Caribbean, along with neighbouring Trinidad & Tobago and St Vincent & the Grenadines. Unmissable local attractions include the otherworldly Underwater Sculpture Park and going for a dip at the iconic Annandale Falls. The traditional Grenada Spicemas festival is
one of the most highly anticipated events in the carnival calendar, attracting visitors from around the world every August. A vibrant display of Caribbean energ and Grenadian culture, Spicemas was first held in Grenada in 1877 to celebrate the abundance of spices grown on the island, including nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, allspice, bay leaves and turmeric. The island transforms into a giant party of elaborate costumes, extravagant parades, lively street parties, soca and calypso music, and closes with an exuberant carnival awash with colour, song and dance.
Don’t miss Spice Island Beach Resort operates the best dive school on Grenada, with ‘Try Dive’ sessions offered regularly
