PAID CONTENT FOR STAR CLIPPERS
Star Flyer THE CARIBBEAN
Visiting intimate ports of call untouched by larger cruise lines, Star Clippers provides a unique and authentic sailing experience on board three of the most timeless vessels on the seas. Guests are invited to step aboard Star Clippers’
Star Flyer, where they will be immersed in the idyllic, powdered sand beaches of the British Virgin Islands, framed by cascading palms and colourful fishing harbours. With the capacity to hold 166 guests, Star Flyer allows passengers to experience authentic sailing while enjoying all the amenities of a private mega-yacht, in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. Offering wind-powered sailing 70% of the time, the British Virgin Islands are one of the best destinations to experience tall-ship sailing. Departing from St Maarten, Star Flyer visits
jewels largely untouched by other cruise lines within two rotational itineraries; the Treasure Islands and Leeward Islands, where tranquil bays and lush, rugged landscapes combine to create an idyllic escape on board an iconic sailing vessel. Guests can take advantage of the cruise
line’s complimentary watersports programme, cooling off in beautiful surroundings where others have rarely ventured before. As a part of the Treasure Islands route,
captivating cays and hideaways of the British Virgin Islands await. Stepping ashore in Jost Van Dyke, the smallest of the four main islands, guests are greeted with an abundance of charm and history. Thought once to have been a hide-out for a Dutch pirate of the same name, Jost Van Dyke offers White Bay — a sheltered, shallow turquoise escape — as an anchorage for Star Flyer. Soper’s Hole in Tortola retains its quaint charm and is a popular spot to anchor for smaller vessels, due to its alluring surroundings. Norman Island’s The Bight and Virgin Gorda’s Spanish Town both offer luscious landscapes and welcoming beaches. Spanish Town’s unique water grottos formed by ancient lava flows are a must-see. In a nod to the adventure Star Flyer can offer, the captain will choose a day to drop anchor at a beach in the British Virgin Islands that is unpublished in the brochure.
Don’t miss Witness the extraordinary sailaway from the deck, with Star Flyer’s billowing sails rising to the dulcet tones of Vangelis
