CoolRooms Palacio de Atocha is a new concept for a luxury hotel, housed in a refurbished building dating from 1852 in the heart of Madrid’s Las Letras district. Cosmopolitan and palatial, it features a
spectacular entrance guarded by the figure of the God Hermes in allusion to the success and triumph of its former owner — a high official of the Ministry of Overseas and Knight of the Order of Charles III. There’s also a carriage passage with 23ft high ceilings, leading towards a secluded garden with a plunge pool. CoolRooms Hotel Palacio de Atocha has 34
rooms, all of which evoke a palatial feel that’s been interpreted in two distinct styles by the interior designers. The rooms on the first floor have a more industrial, loft-style character and are equipped with micro-cement bathrooms and cast-iron fittings. The rooms on the first floor are more classic and sophisticated, with bathrooms that combine black and white and radiate elegance. Among them, two Coolsuites are likely to become a favourite among travellers, complete
with their own private terrace over Madrid’s rooftops and outdoor hot tub. Chef Eduardo Gutiérrez is a true master of
detail and passionate about produce. He defines his cuisine as soulful, versatile and fun, with one aim in mind: ensuring that every mouthful evokes sensations. Premium cocktails are offered in the lounge bar, providing the ideal ambience to enjoy Madrid’s evenings and nights to the fullest. The gastronomic offering also includes El 34 de Atocha, a cool tavern in which to enjoy excellent Spanish cuisine in a more informal way. CoolRooms Palacio de Atocha provides
