HEALTHCARE ESTATES
Delivering smarter healthcare infrastructure – together
As the NHS ‘pivots to new models of care outlined in the Fit for the Future: 10-Year Health Plan’, K2CM and Walker Sime say they are ‘uniquely placed to help deliver community-based facilities, adapt to fast-evolving clinical technologies, and stretch limited budgets further’. The sister companies, who will be exhibiting
jointly, said: “Our approach allows early starts on site, local-contractor engagement, agile designs that evolve mid-build, and cost control grounded in transparency and real-time decision-making – importantly avoiding inflated risk pricing common in fixed-price models.” They continued: “As part of the Hanmi Global
group, K2 Construction Management (K2CM) and Walker Sime combine international scale with deep, UK-based sector insight. With 20 years’ experience delivering complex healthcare projects, K2CM leads the way using Construction Management (CM) philosophies that help clients deliver faster, smarter, and more flexible, estate solutions. ‘One-stop shop’ for AE Services
DRLC says it is ‘excited to announce’ its participation in this year’s Healthcare Estates event, where it will again be offering Authorising Engineer services for:
n Fire safety. n Ventilation. n Water safety. n Pressure systems.
n Medical gases. n Confined spaces. n Electrical, and n Working at heights.
In addition, DRLC provides Energy Analytics as a free service, conducted by energy brokers
registered with Ofgem and the
Energy Ombudsman. This is offered on a ‘no-win-no-fee’ basis, meaning 80% of identified overpayments are paid directly to the Trust. DRLC is on the NHS SBS Building Safety &
Fire Compliance Framework for Authorising Engineers – framework reference SBS10509. It can also be engaged to supply AE services via the NOE CPC framework agreement (NOE.0570), or the London Procurement Partnership (LPP) framework agreement. The company said: “We invite all
attendees to visit us at Stand F46, where you can meet our team, and make sure also you don’t miss Louise Webb, director of DRLC (pictured with the company’s MD, David Webb), presenting on ‘NHS Estates & Net Zero’ on Wednesday 22 October at 13:00 in the ‘Engineering for Resilience’ area.”
Contour works with Estates teams,
contractors, and designers, to deliver project- specific solutions, whether replacing legacy guards, supporting capital upgrades, or meeting complex safety specifications. This year it has expanded its window protection range, with a remodelled internal unit now available with integrated ventilation and blinds, both operated via robust anti-ligature dials. A new external window protector provides a safe, retrofittable option for secure outdoor applications. Contour’s growing portfolio of anti-ligature accessories includes padded radiator covers, thermostat protectors, and vent grilles. ‘From design to installation’, Contour says it is ‘committed to safety, quality, and customer care, enhancing environments where dignity and protection are paramount’.
HTM-compliant medical central gas systems
On Stand C32 GCE Medical will present its full range of HTM-compliant medical central gas systems, ‘designed to meet the demanding needs of medical facilities across the UK and beyond’. Its exhibition stand will feature its manifolds, AVSUs, terminal units, bedhead units, and more from its brands, including Therapy Equipment, GCE Healthcare, Ohio Medical, and the newly acquired Delta P and Aktiv. It says that all these systems ‘have
a proven record of reliability in critical care settings worldwide’. GCE Medical’s capabilities have grown significantly following the recent acquisitions of Delta P Gas Equipment, based in Italy, and Aktiv Technologies, based in India, by its parent company, ESAB Corporation. It said: “These integrations expand our offerings in medical gas systems, suction solutions, and oxygen therapy. They also strengthen our position in both the European and Asia-Pacific markets.” With global reach and certifications
including HTM, MDR, CE, ISO, and FDA, GCE Medical says it ‘delivers solutions that are trusted worldwide, and certified everywhere’.
(LST) radiators, anti-ligature guards, HVAC/ perimeter casings, and metal or plywood pipe boxing, its products are widely used across NHS acute health buildings, and in education, mental health, social care, and custodial settings. Designed for safety, hygiene, and compliance, all metal products are manufactured in the UK from Zintec or Magnelis steel, and finished with BioCote anti-microbial protection to reduce the risk of surface contamination.
