Additional capacity ‘at pace’ for healthcare providers
On Stand A8, Vanguard Healthcare Solutions will demonstrate how, using mobile facilities and modular construction, it provides, ‘at pace’, additional capacity for healthcare providers. It said: “A great example is the
‘mini-hospital’ installed for Cwm Taf Morganwg University Health Board (CTM) at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant. An endoscopy complex comprising two treatment rooms, scope processing, and a five-bay ward, was open within six weeks, and a surgical suite of four operating theatres and two wards plus support rooms, in nine.” This was a ‘mixed-modality’ solution, ‘seamlessly integrating mobile and modular facilities, combining speed of delivery with design flexibility’. Installed to provide alternative capacity during an urgent refurbishment project, the facility is staying in place to reduce wating times for CTM and neighbouring Health Boards.
Sharing news and information for over eight decades
Health Estate Journal – on Stand H24 – is the official monthly publication for the members of IHEEM (the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management), and is published 10 times a year, in all months apart from July and December. First published in
Rhys Hopkins, Senior nurse – Theatres and
Pre-Assessment, CTM, said of the Vanguard facilities: “I think they are a fantastic set of units. The theatre teams really like the area. They’re very modern-looking. There’s a lot more space than you expect when you go into them too.” Gethin Hughes, the Health Board’s COO,
agreed: “The facilities are state-of-the-art; as good as the facilities in the main body of the hospital.”

management, for over 80 years.
In-depth articles each month, many of them with a technical and engineering bias, are complemented by up-to- the-minute industry news, product appraisals, and features on exhibitions, conferences, and technical seminars, as well as coverage of the latest IHEEM events and developments, and a monthly section dedicated to Training & Development. Published in print 10 times a year, HEJ is also fully accessible in digital form.
A new colour palette for disposable shower kits
In healthcare environments – where safety, compliance, and operational efficiency are critical, even small changes can make a big impact. So says Aquatools, whose extended range of colour-coded shower kits, designed with clearly defined coloured conical unions, reportedly offers ‘a simple yet highly effective visual aid to support correct installation and replacement’. Two new vibrant colours – green and purple, complement the current colour combination of yellow and blue, encouraging timely replacement.
Part of the Essentials range, Aquatools’ new models will launch at Healthcare Estates 2025. The disposable shower kits feature a white PVC flexible hose with a smooth interior and exterior. The smooth interior means no rough surfaces where bacteria can adhere, while the smooth exterior facilitates cleaning, contributing to improved hygiene and infection control. Available in 1.5 metre lengths, the flexible hoses feature a colour- coordinated conical union
which provides a strong visual contrast and can be easily identified on sight. A 70 mm diameter
monojet shower head has a
comfortable, rain-effect flow, and features a colour-matched central pip. Said to be suitable for any shower, Aquatools’ extended range of shower kits ‘helps maintain high standards of hygiene, streamline routine maintenance, and support infection control protocols with greater confidence’.
