HEALTHCARE ESTATES

Ensuring that the estate is resilient and future-ready

The National Estates and Facilities team at NHS England leads the strategic direction, policy, and assurance, for the NHS estate. National Deputy Director of Estates for NHS England, Fiona Daly (pictured), explained: “We support local teams to deliver safe, sustainable, and high-quality environments for patient care. Our work spans workforce development,

statutory compliance, and safety, as well as capital delivery through frameworks like P23 and P24. We champion innovation, social value, and Net Zero ambitions, ensuring that the estate is resilient and future-ready. Through national standards, technical guidance, and strategic oversight, we help optimise the NHS estate and facilities to support world-class healthcare across England.”

An ideal training environment

Eastwood Park has delivered ‘world- class training’ for over 55 years, and describes its spacious country setting as ‘the ideal environment for training – one that creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere’. The training provider said: “From

introductory technical courses, and certificated compliance training, through apprentice summer schools to bespoke programmes – all the opportunities are available at Eastwood Park. Our training follows the latest standards and legislation, as outlined in UK & European health & safety

documentation, Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs), and joint Service Publications (JSPs) guidance. We also offer training at your facilities if you feel it would be more conducive to your team to learn in its own environment. “Our facilities are truly unique, with a

state-of the-art operating theatre housing a range of medical equipment models available to learn on, the only ‘live’ medical gases pipeline system in the UK, and a decontamination lab with a wide range of equipment used in sterile services departments. Our Training Centre (pictured) also features both HV and LV facilities, and a comprehensive lift training lab, including fully working traction, MRL, and hydraulic lifts. From your initial enquiry, through to certification, we’ll support your learning journey.”

‘Unparalleled approach’ to water purity

Scotmas will introduce the Bravo Ultra-Pure system, ‘a ground- breaking solution engineered to deliver water of the highest purity for demanding industrial and scientific applications’. It said: “In sectors where even trace contaminants can compromise product quality, research integrity, or operational efficiency, the Bravo Ultra-Pure offers an unparalleled approach to achieving and maintaining exceptionally clean water supplies. This advanced system is designed for industries requiring stringent control over water quality.” The Bravo Ultra-Pure

‘distinguishes itself’ with its multi-stage purification processes – which include advanced filtration, reverse osmosis, and deionisation technologies. Scotmas says this ‘comprehensive approach’ ensures the removal of dissolved solids, organic compounds, particulates, and microorganisms, to achieve ultra-low conductivity and TOC levels. Real- time monitoring provides continuous data on key parameters, allowing facilities to maintain precise control and compliance with the most rigorous purity standards. Its design is said to optimise resource use and minimise waste. The company added: “Beyond its superior purification capabilities, the Bravo Ultra-Pure system contributes to enhanced operational reliability and reduced equipment wear by preventing scaling and corrosion. User-friendly interfaces and remote diagnostics offer seamless management and proactive maintenance, ensuring consistent performance.”

delivering exceptional outcomes for staff and patients alike, MIG has become a trusted partner for Estates and Facilities teams.” A key focus at this year’s Healthcare Estates will be the ongoing evolution of MIG Medical’s
