HEALTHCARE ESTATES

‘Transforming’ managing water strategy and compliance

Designed specifically for healthcare environments, the KWC DVS Inform system is ‘transforming how estates teams manage water safety, compliance, and efficiency’, the company says. It said: “At the core of this innovation are

the Inform outlets – precision engineered from high-grade 316 stainless steel for exceptional durability and hygiene in clinical settings. “These intelligent outlets incorporate

antimicrobial properties and advanced sensor technology to monitor water temperatures accurately at the point of discharge. This real- time data allows Estates managers to identify potential risks such as Legionella growth before they become an issue – enabling rapid, informed decision-making.” KWC DVS says Inform ‘not only enhances patient safety, but also streamlines operations’. It explained: “Through a cloud-based

dashboard, Estates teams can remotely monitor performance, schedule automated hygiene flushes, and receive instant alerts for non- compliant temperatures, all without the need for site visits. The result is reduced water stagnation, improved resource allocation, and a proactive approach to HTM compliance. “Whether you’re managing a single hospital or multiple sites, Inform delivers a smarter, more responsive way to control water systems in high- risk environments.”

Advancing surgery through technology

Stryker says it is ‘at the forefront’ of advanced imaging modalities used in minimally invasive, open case, and robotic surgery. The company said: “Together with these

advances in surgical tools has been the development of the ‘iSuite’, enabling the accompanying integration of equipment, control, and data communication, to make the most efficient use of advanced surgical products. Stryker iSuite theatre integration is

all about creating a streamlined ecosystem of equipment, best configured and accessible for any given surgery. The proximity of the equipment, and its control and relation to surgeon, staff, and patient, is optimised to make surgery safer and more efficient. By facilitating equipment control and better feedback, the focus of the surgery returns to the patient ,and away from unnecessary complexity. In short, the iSuite provides a much better working environment for surgery, and relies upon the experience of thousands of surgeons and nurses who have contributed to the latest innovations within the iSuite.” With the bandwidth to carry multiple 4K video signals (and beyond), Stryker says the iSuite is ‘future ready’. It added: “From the tip of the scope to the pixel on the screen – we provide Stryker-validated components and software, integrated to customised solutions by our certified project engineers.”

Setting new benchmarks in fire protection

Nottingham-based Aerocom (UK) says it is ‘setting new benchmarks in fire protection for healthcare services’ – most recently with the installation of its Stixx Pro fire suppression system at Leeds General Hospital, where it is now safeguarding vital plant room panels. The company explained: “Designed to be installed in mere seconds, and for high-risk, enclosed environments such as electrical cabinets and control systems, the ground-breaking Maus Stixx Pro delivers

immediate, residue-free fire suppression with no disruption to essential services. It’s already protecting critical NHS infrastructure, and was

a key component in what has been hailed as ‘the safest hospital in Northern Ireland’ – a recent project in Belfast that earned national attention for its innovation and effectiveness.” Aerocom’s systems are also under review for a major national framework with Network Rail. Tom Hughes, MD at Aerocom (UK), said: “Hospitals are under growing pressure to upgrade safety services without causing downtime. Stixx Pro is compact, fast-acting, and clean, making it a smart choice for teams who need peace of mind.”
