Welcome to the February issue of Personal Care Global magazine. In this edition, we cover
the issue of ‘Ozempic face’, i.e. the facial sagging side-effect from using rapid weight loss drugs such as Ozempic, which has
become an almightily hot topic in recent months. Indeed, ‘Ozempic face’ featured on the 13
January front page of the Financial Times, which reported that users of weight loss drugs suffering from facial sagging are flocking to injectable aesthetic treatments, particularly in North America and the Middle East. Swiss dermatology outfit Galderma chief
executive Flemming Ørnskov was quoted as saying people losing eight to ten kilogrammes will start to show signs of sagging, thus sparking demand for its filler treatments containing hyaluronic acid. Grant Industries’ article, ‘Countering ‘Ozempic face’ with active ingredients’ (p.21), looks at how

Ozempic changes skin, and what can be done about it – from the inside. This issue also includes our annual Chinese
language section, which includes feature articles by Rahn of Switzerland; Tidetron Bioworks Technology of China; Uviva Technologies of Germany; AAK of Sweden; and Silab of France. Later this month, publisher Geoff King, business
manager Chris Vincent and myself will be at this year’s Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) trade show in Guangzhou, China. In addition to being an exhibitor, we are the media partner for the International Ingredient Technology conference track. I have the honour of chairing a panel discussion that, at the time of going to press, was scheduled to include top-line representatives from Evonik, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, Provital, and Gattefossé. I hope to see you some of you there, either
at the International Ingredient Technology conference track or at our stand (6E25). Enjoy the magazine.
