Nebraska online sports referendum Land-based operations
Nebraska’s Secretary of State has confirmed that two petitions seeking to legalise and regulate online sports betting have secured enough signatures to appear on the 2026 general election ballot. Te Online Sports Wagering Authorisation Constitutional Amendment collected at least 138,473 valid signatures. Constitutional amendment petitions require signatures from at least 10 per cent of registered Nebraska voters, alongside signatures from five per cent of registered voters in at least 38 counties. New Papua New Guinea casino Operator News
Pacific Pearl Casino is set to open in Port Moresby, becoming Papua New Guinea’s first casino on the island in almost two decades. Located in the Paga Hill Special Economic Zone close to the city centre, the boutique casino will feature 20 gaming tables, 100 slot machines and a VIP area. Te venue is being developed by Chinese company
Paga Hill and Fortuna Investments, which will oversee casino operations. Fortuna previously worked on the opening of Tiger Palace in Nepal and operates the Jade Club in Vietnam, alongside experience with casinos in the Philippines and CNMI. Pacific Pearl expects to attract local players alongside expatriates and visitors from Australia, New Zealand and China. Prime Minister James Marape previously said the casino’s primary purpose was to attract international visitors.
