What mechanics has Betixon created and how do they work?

How complex is the process of patenting a new mechanic?
We do not patent every mechanic, as it is very difficult to patent parts of a whole system, but we did patent our SpinXP social system, available only in our games, where players can interact on other players' wins in realtime.
We first had to check about any existing tool which delivers that specific solution, and then with the use of a patent specialist lawyer to draft the system details, diagrams and explain the whole process, if the solution is too simple it will be hard to get it patented. So, most of the work is to make sure that what you have is patentable, otherwise it is just bad use of resources and money.
