ESPORTS BAYES ESPORTS
gold standard, whilst going with your gut on what the best practices are and providing a great product at the end of the day.
BODEX is based on Bayes Esports’ data distribution platform, BEDEX. What does this mean for the reliability and quality of distributed odds?
BEDEX is the distribution platform, and essentially when we say data this doesn't just mean live data. BEDEX was built in an agnostic fashion where any kind of information can be transmitted. It's a block that allows data to come in with logic internally on what information is going where and an output, which is the customer side.
We built a block to go before BEDEX but the distribution for the odds is done through BEDEX currently which allows us to service all our customers, whether they are on the odds, statistics or data side through the same platform, which is great for reducing integration overhead.
Just how significant is having such a platform for betting odds?
Tis is something that can transform the whole industry, enabling it to provide better quality products. Specifically, in the esports space, the odds providers are always very specialised. Tey will have a certain niche in the ecosystem they focus on, whether it's a title or tier one content only.
If a bookmaker wants to have all this content covered with the best quality odds, they will have to integrate with every provider individually. What we allow them to do is mix and match the tournaments and coverage across different titles, tiers and markets. We allow them to aggregate all the best quality odds out there and put them together. One integration means that in the future you can have access to any provider we work with.
How does increased adoption benefit the entire ecosystem?
Tis is the narrative we are driving with the official data and deals we are striking with the rights holders. We pay for the data and work directly with them, meaning anything the data is being used for such as odds is being fed back into the ecosystem. At the same time as creating the best quality product, we are also giving back to the esports ecosystem and supporting the growth of competition organisers.
At launch, BODEX will be focused on the integration and distribution of odds in esports but will be expanded to allow more sports to be integrated soon. Why go down this path as an esports specialist?

In terms of esports, we are looking to continue expanding the base of providers whilst keeping those we already have onboard high quality and esports focused. Adding more content is a priority. On our radar is adding more FIFA coverage due to the sustained demand we are seeing in the market.
From a sports betting perspective, we really think that there is a lot of learnings we can take from esports and apply to sports betting that could help transform the experience and bring younger fans into sports betting by giving them
the value they get out of esports and transferring this across.
We see an opportunity to take what we know and the cool things esports betting is exploring and apply it to traditional sports in the future, especially those that are action driven and quick like table tennis. Betting on small live markets that are not available with most providers is an interesting proposition.
Is closer collaboration and a community driven approach required to get lesser-known titles mainstream?
Personally, I think you can take Riot as a very good example with the rise in prominence of League of Legends. A lot of this is due to what Riot is doing with the community. Tey are really focusing on building the ecosystem from the ground up, supporting the players, competition organisers, and enabling a more exciting fan experience.
