Ironwood Introduces New QFN Test Socket

Eagan, MN — Ironwood Electronics recently introduced its CBT-QFN- 7005, a high-performance QFN test socket. The contactor is a stamped spring pin with a 1.1 oz (31g) actua- tion force per pin and a cycle life of 125,000 insertions. The self induc- tance of the contactor is 0.88 nH, it

grated compression springs between the socket lid and compression plate. This socket can be used for hand test, screening modules and custom burn- in applications with strict require- ments. These socket product lines have

been designed to the JEDEC standard and are available in all standard configurations. Custom de signs are also available. The CBT-QFN- 7055 sock et has a special contact design with out- side spring and flat stamped plungers that provide a robust solution for burn-in and test. This includes excellent electri- cal signal integrity to meet the requirements of today’s demanding ana- log, digital, RF, Bluetooth, and medical device appli- cations. The socket is mount-

has an insertion loss of less than one decibel at 15.7 GHz, and has a capac- itance of 0.097 pF. The current capacity of each

contactor is 4A at 40°C temperature rise. The socket operates in a temper- ature range of –67 to +356°F (–55 to +180°C). The specific configuration of the package to be tested is a QFN with a 2 x 1.6 in. (50 x 40 mm) body size and 0.04 in. (0.92 mm) pitch. The IC is dropped into the socket, the lid is closed and the lever is actuated. Vertical force is applied by the inte-

ed using supplied hard- ware on the target PCB with no soldering, and

has a very small footprint. The small footprint allows inductors, resistors and decoupling capacitors to be placed very close to the device for impedance tuning. The lever-actuat- ed socket lid applies force smoothly with a cam mechanism for precise IC

contact to the PCB. Contact: Ironwood Electronics,

Inspectis Releases 4K Digital Microscope

Chester, CT — Inspectis, a brand of Swedish-made digital microscopes sold in North America by Ascentech, LLC, has introduced 4K, ultra-HD (UHD), digital microscopes — the U10 and U10s. With 3840 x 2160 resolution,

clear, ergonomic

inspection is made crisp and easy. The U10 is an all-in-one,

plug-and-play system with an integrated aluminum stand and built-in, adjustable white LED illumination. The U10s is a stand- alone, totally-configurable system with a variety of different mount- ing possibilities. This microscope works with any of the company’s boom, x/y and articulated arm stands. Both inspection systems are designed to be rugged enough to suit industrial environments. Both systems offer distinctive

features, including 10:1 zoom optics with auto-focus, a large practical working distance and outstanding per- formance even in poor lighting. The cameras can be switched between UHD 4K 30 FPS for careful inspection of fine detail and fully-HD 60 FPS for

lag-free magnified working. Like all of the company’s digital

microscopes, the U10 and U10s mod- els include design features that can

significantly reduce the time spent inspecting parts. An ergonomic design and 9.1 in. (23 cm) free work- ing distance allow operators to sit comfortably, reducing eye, neck and

shoulder fatigue from use. Contact: Ascentech, LLC, 127
