Seika Offers McDry Cabinets for Short- and Long-term Storage of ICs and LEDs

Hayward, CA — Seika Machinery is now offering a line of dry storage cab- inets that can preserve components and LEDs. The McDry systems can store components indefinitely, keep- ing an internal relative humidity of five percent or less. Five of the stor- age systems provide less than one percent relative humidity, including the DXU-1001, MCU-201, MCU-301, MCU-401, and the DXU-580SF feed- er storage cabinet. When IC packages and chip

LEDs are left on the pick-and-place system, they absorb moisture from the atmosphere and may “popcorn,” due to heat expansion during reflow. This moisture absorption can be mit- igated by using dry storage systems that are capable of 5 percent relative humidity or less. McDry boxes, cabinets and des-

iccators are designed to provide ultra-low humidity and moisture- proof storage for IC packages. When safely and properly stored, compo- nents have an indefinite floor life, eliminating micro-cracking or pop- corning during reflow. Other storage applications for McDry cabinets include original

RCD Launches Mini 300W Heat Sink Resistors

Manchester, NH — RCD Components has launched its CM300 series of chas- sis mount resistors. The CM300 was developed for a manufacturer of power supplies who wanted to save space, height and weight. The new resistor is rated for up to 300W and is less than one-tenth the size and weight of a conven- tional RE80 250W chassis mount resistor. It is also less than half the height of an SOT227 package, is quicker and easier to mount and is 30 percent lighter. According to the company,

the resistor is essentially vibra- tion-proof and is available with insulation ratings up to 5 kV. The new resistors are non-

inductive and have a range of resistance values from 0.1W to 1 MW. The CM300 has 0.19 in. (4.8 mm) male, quick-connect termi- nals. The CM300L includes flexible, insulated leads with a variety of cus- tomized terminations. Burn-in and military-screening, along with nu- merous design modifications, are available. Applications include automo- tive electronics, medical equipment,

ASC Capacitors Intros DC Filter Capacitor

Ogallala, NE — ASC Capacitors, a member of the Shizuki™ Group, has introduced its MEC-DL series of ca- pacitors. The capacitors have been designed to be easy to mount and save space on the PCB. Their lead spacing and compact size provide low inductance — less than 1 nH per mm of lead spacing. They are available with a single lead or with dual leads. The components have capaci- tances of 10 to 100 µF, are rated for

450, 850 and 950 VDC, have an oper- ational temperature range of –40 to +185°F (–40 to +85°C), an rms current of up to 20 Arms, and meet IEC61071 requirements. The capacitors have tin-plated copper wire terminals and

are through-hole mounted. Contact: ASC Capacitors, 301 W
