Successful Premier of “Accelerating Talents” at productronica 2019

Munich, Germany — At the recent productronica 2019, held in Munich, Germany, over 1,500 exhibitors from 44 countries presented innovations from the fields of electronics produc- tion and development. The trade show covered such

trends as the smart factory and smart maintenance, and also looked at how to attract more young profes- sionals and specialists. In addition to “Accelerating Talents,” a platform for students and young professionals, visitors to special shows, such as the “3D AOI Arena” and “Smart Maintenance Pavilion” were given insights into the automation of elec- tronics production. According to Falk Senger, man-

aging director of Messe München, world premiers from companies that include Fuji Europe and Posalux were not the only thing that made the trade show a success. “We’re delighted to have

increased the number of exhibitors and the exhibition space yet again this year. productronica has once again proven that is the most impor- tant trade fair for electronics produc- tion,” says Senger. Thilo Brückner, managing direc-

tor of VDMA EMINT, explained, “Despite a subdued overall economic situation, the electronics manufactur- ing industry is expecting continuously rising sales revenue and reports of busy trade fair booths. The Hacka - thon@productronica was a great opportunity to successfully bring together young professionals and the mechanical engineering industry.” As far as the visitors’ overall

verdict is concerned, productronica fared even better this year. According to a survey carried out by the market research institute Gelszus, 98 per- cent rated the event as excellent to good. In addition, 97 percent of the visitors surveyed said that produc- tronica had lived up to their expecta- tions regarding innovations. This too

“In partnering with CES, we are call- ing on the tech community to come up with bold and practical ideas to solve specific challenges, such as reducing the digital gender gap. The Global Tech Challenge is an opportu- nity to bring the voices of entrepre- neurs from countries often underrep- resented to the global tech stage.” As one of the world’s largest and

most influential technology events, CES 2020 will showcase technology innovation that will change the world for the better, including dedi- cated Marketplaces focused on resilience and health & wellness. CES will also include conference pro- gramming exploring diversity, prod- uct inclusion, culture shifting and hiring and investing in diversity. Contact: Consumer Technology

Join Us for What Will be an Excellent Experience in 2020

The pursuit of excellence in electronics is year-round. But, for the six days of IPC APEX EXPO 2020 the focus of the electr

onics manufacturing industry

will be on how collectively we can elevate all aspects of our industry and the products we create. We'll learn together, explore innovative ideas and share our experiences all with an eye toward a future driven by success.

Plan now to elevate your excellence in San Diego at IPC APEX EXPO 2020.

Thank you to our IPC APEX EXPO 2019 volunteers, supporters, sponsors, exhibitors, instructors, speakers, committee leaders and committee members for an outstanding event.

is an increase over the previous event. In total, 44,000 visitors from 96

countries came to Munich. In addi- tion to Germany, the top countries for visitor numbers were: Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, Rus - sia, Great Britain and the Czech Republic, in that order. In order to make students and

young professionals more aware of the wide range of activities in the field of electronics production, pro- ductronica launched the “Acceler - ating Talents” event. This platform

for young professionals included var- ious segments such as a career cen- ter, talent gateway, education path and talent stage. The highpoint was a 48-hour

hackathon organized by Messe München together with the VDMA and the Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM). The exhibitors Komax and Schleuniger took part in the first pro- ductronica hackathon as sponsors and supervisors. After the success of “electronica Fast Forward” in 2016 and 2018, the

platform for electronics startups was included at this year’s productronica. Innovations ranged from contactless pick-and-place machines to AI-sup- ported gesture control. Around 40 young companies applied to take part. Ten of these startup companies were chosen to present their prod- ucts at productronica.
