CONTA-CLIP Offers Direct Modbus Connection to PLCs


Somerset, NJ — CONTA-CLIP has introduced its GSM-PRO2 series of communication modules, which offer a Modbus RTU (RS-485) interface that enables easy data exchange with other controllers. The mod- ules operate in slave mode and can provide a PLC with added GSM functionality by using a plug connection to the RS-485 port directly on the C-type mounting rail. The GSM-PRO-CON exten-


sion module from CONTA-CLIP makes wiring even simpler. Plugged into the GSM-PRO2 module, it offers front-access ter- minals for connection to the con- troller. The GSM-PRO2 parame- terization software can be pro- grammed to send a text or e-mail fault message to specified recipients when the status of the PLC input changes. Prompted by a text message that
