December, 2019 Rehm Launches UV Adhesive Dryer
Roswell, GA — UV coatings and adhe- sives facilitate quick hardening in sec- onds, ensure short cycle times and contribute to beneficial environmental and economic effects. UV adhesives also provide a high level of glossiness, increased durability and scratch re- sistance. With the RDS UV dryer, Rehm has launched a system that has been specifically tailored to the re- quirements of drying UV coatings. Declining cycle times during the
coating process today require faster hardening times, which can be imple- mented with the help of UV drying systems. The RDS UV is a flexible and reliable dryer that makes the hardening process for UV coatings straightforward. Due to a short heat- ing phase of a few seconds, the sys- tem is immediately ready for use and is therefore significantly more effi- cient than comparable systems in terms of energy use. The RDS UV dryer has been op-
timized with a three-part transport system. Two assemblies can be processed in the furnace at the same time with 100 percent traceability. The dryer is also equipped with four- compartment
technology, which guarantees that harmful UV radia-
tion can never escape. The system can be outfitted
with various light sources. Available options include un-doped mercury, medium-pressure lamps, doped UV
RDS UV adhesive dryer. lamps, UV LED fields, or special
lamps with specific light spectrums. Contact: Rehm Thermal Sys- tems, LLC, 3080 Northfield Place,

Nihon Superior: Flux
Cored Solder Wire Extends Soldering Iron Tip Life
Osage Beach, MO — Nihon Superior has introduced its TipSave N flux- cored solder wire. The new wire is de- signed to extend soldering iron tip life by up to three times. When a sol- der joint is made with a soldering iron, the tin reacts with the iron plat- ing on the tip, gradually eroding it. Eventually, the underlaying cop-
per is exposed resulting in damage to the tip. TipSave N slows this erosion, extending the tip life and reducing the replacement cost of soldering tips.
Paired with the (032) no-clean, halo- gen-free cored-flux, it provides fast wetting and low spattering. TipSave N is a good match for hand soldering as well as continuous robotic soldering, as it reduces required soldering tip changeovers, increasing production
while reducing cost. Contact: Nihon Superior USA,
