Slurp Yoghurts Limited is a small but growing enterprise that make yoghurts in original flavours. It has its own shop and also sells to other shops and restaurants. The
business was started by Fiona Foley’s sister, Karen Jones. To help get the business started, Karen got help from her family and friends who were impressed by her great yoghurt flavours and solid business plan. Some, like Fiona, also provided finance by buying shares in the business. As an entrepreneur, Karen needs to know that there is more money coming into the business than going out. Otherwise, her business will run out of cash and will be unable to survive. Keeping an accurate record of income and expenditure and all her financial transactions is essential to her business.
