Business News 3 New UK and Ireland Sales Manager for Dräger
International leader in safety and medical technology Dräger (Germany), has appointed Daniel O’Neill to head up sales of its fire and gas systems across the UK and Ireland.
41-year-old Daniel from Macclesfield in Cheshire brings a wealth of experience, having worked in the field of speciality gas manufacture and supply for the majority of his career.|
He joins Dräger from gas specialist StG, where he was responsible for devising and implementing the company’s global sales strategy. Prior to that Daniel worked for more than a decade for one of the world’s leading supplier of industry gases, Air Liquide, in a variety of international senior management roles.
As well as developing Air Liquide’s global sales team in Singapore, Daniel’s career highlights include managing the company’s U.S. facility and leading a multi- million dollar upgrade operation, which involved the installation of fixed gas detection systems.
Daniel will now be responsible for the sale and installation of Dräger’s extensive portfolio of fixed fire and gas detection systems into a broad range of industries with potential for toxic or flammable environments, including the petrochemical, utilities and manufacturing sectors.
Daniel said: “I’m very proud to be joining Dräger – with its rich heritage and unrivalled global reputation for excellence and innovation.

IFAT India Gears Up for its Second Edition
Taking place from October 9 to 11, 2014, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, is the second edition of India’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Refuse and Recycling. Details on how to apply for exhibition space at IFAT India are available now at:

At the premiere of IFAT India last year, a total of 131 exhibitors from 17 countries showcased their solutions and products in environmental technology to 4,924 visitors. The ratings for the show were positive across the board: 88 percent of the exhibiting companies rated the event as “good to excellent”; among the visitors, 96 percent gave the same rating. On another point, again 88 percent of the exhibitors saw participation in the show as a competitive advantage for their company; 97 percent of the visitors shared this view in relation to their attendance. 99 percent of the exhibitors and 95 percent of the visitors said they would be happy to recommend the event to their colleagues and business partners.
“With IFAT India getting a perfect start, we are sure in the forthcoming years, IFAT India will grow in terms of the exhibition space, number of exhibitors and visitors”, explained Gerritzen. “It will also add more segments as per the Indian market needs in the future.”

New Managing Director Appointed to Wasser Berlin
On the 1st of March 2014 Dr. Fritz Holzwarth was appointed as the new managing director of Wasser Berlin e.V (Germany). He succeeds Arnd Böhme who held the post of managing director for many years. From 1991 Dr. Fritz Holzwarth was at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Reactor Safety (formerly the BMU, as of December 2013 the BMUB), where in 1996 he became head of the Water Management Department. He held numerous senior water management posts at government level as well as in Europe and worldwide and was responsible for inland waters and ocean protection.
Commenting on his appointment as managing director of Wasser Berlin e.V. Dr. Fritz Holzwarth said: “I would like to contribute to the success story of Wasser Berlin International.“
Wasser Berlin e.V. is an umbrella organisation and has 23 members, among which are water industry associations and institutions. Chairman of the board is Jörg Simon, who is also board chairman of Berliner Wasserbetriebe. Since it was
founded in 1963 Wasser Berlin e.V., with the help of its members, has contributed to promoting Wasser Berlin International. Wasser Berlin e.V. organises and holds the WBI Congress.
