xvi UK Focus - Air Monitoring
The Importance of Personal Development in the Field of Environmental Monitoring and MCERTS
In the current economic climate, expenditure by organisations on training has suffered a downturn. It is viewed by many that training is non- essential, and the focus is on maintaining profi t margins.
However, continual improvement of staff understanding and knowledge within the areas they work should increase productivity and motivation. Plant owners also have a responsibility to ensure their staff are kept up-to-date with latest technical guidance and requirements.
With the growing acceptance of the MCERTS schemes in the UK, Europe and further afi eld, it is now more important than ever that manufacturers, process operators and stack-emission monitoring personnel are kept fully abreast of changes to legislation and policy.
CSA Group-Sira, the MCERTS Certifi cation provider, offers a range of training courses covering the various regulatory requirements for environmental monitoring, including:
The Complete Solution to Particulate Sampling
Air sampling is commonly carried out to ensure that workplace or environmental air is meeting regulatory standards and to help Occupational Hygiene and Health & Safety professionals assess employee exposure to airborne hazards, especially particulates. With 50 years of leading the world in air sampling technologies, SKC can offer a range of kits to suit both workplace and environmental particulate sampling.
The SKC Dust Kits are ideal for workplace sampling for dusts from metals, woods, foodstuffs, stone, cement and others. The kits include the small and lightweight IOM Sampler for inhalable and respirable dusts, which closely simulates the way in which airborne particles are inhaled through the nose and mouth. A Cyclone is also included, specifi cally designed for respirable dust which eliminates the effects of ambient wind speed and orientation. Complete the kit with our extensive range of pumps.
All courses are delivered by practicing experts and engineers and are conducted at CSA Group-Sira training locations or at your own site.
CSA Group-Sira also delivers the MCERTS Personnel Competence Scheme, the scheme that enables stack-emission monitoring personnel to be certifi ed as competent in their emission-monitoring tasks. More Information
